Weerts Group secures permit for groundbreaking eco-friendly logistics hub in Ghent: WLP XVIII
Weerts Group - Weerts Logistics Parks (WLP) has obtained the permit for a new, pioneering logistics project along the Pantserschipstraat in Ghent: WLP XVIII. Located in a strategic location, near the Ghent-Terneuzen canal and the R4 ring road, this site offers excellent connectivity and accessibility.
The project aims for a #BREEAM Excellent certification, which will place it among the most sustainable and ecological buildings in Belgium. It will be a model of eco-friendly design including solar panels, charging stations for EVs, and heat pumps.
Thanks to the mediation of our colleagues Bert Jonckheere and Christophe L. Wuyts MRICS SIOR, WLP found the first user for this ambitious project: National Gent Performance Polymers BV, one of the companies in the multinational company group - National Sweden. National Gent specializes in converting sustainable polymeric material for the automotive industry.
Construction work will start in September for the development of 10,584 m² of warehouses and 630 m² of ready-to-use offices. The delivery is scheduled for mid-summer 2025.
We look forward to the successful realization of this innovative project! 🌱🏗️
